Are you ready to look for a home business? Great, so where do you start? Here are a few tips to help you choose which company to invest your time and money in.

1. Make sure the company is a 5 pillar company. Without this, you will not be able to succeed no matter how hard you work.
2. Make sure the company has been in business for over 2 years. With less than 2 years or a starter company, you have no idea if the company will make it past the trials and tribulations.
3. Make sure the company is offering a service or product that is needed.

How do you advertise? I use a couple different methods but I have 3 main sites that I use. I believe you should find a couple sites that you are good at and will also bring you prospects and stick too them. If you are trying to advertise on too many sites at one time, you are not taking the time to build relationships with anyone and that is what Network Marketing is all about. There are so many options for advertising now a days but I am going to list the top ones:

Your "WHY"

You have enrolled in a five pillar company with an excellent product and you take off running! After a couple of weeks go by, you start to drag your feet a little, your not following through on your calls, prospects and training. What happened? Where did it start to spiral downward? One thing to look at is your "why".
Why did you start Network Marketing? What is your goal? Your "why" has too be strong. Some say your "why" should make you cry. Having a strong "why" will keep you pushing through difficult times and keep you motivated. A strong why will also help you to work outside of your comfort zone.

How do you develop your WHY
You must first be certain of two thing:
1. What is your motivation?
2. Why did you choose your particular business?

It is good to also keep developing your why. As time progresses your why may change and you will have to update it too reflect your present goals. Modify your why when you have made accomplishments and need to make new goals and when your mindset shifts.

The 80:20 Rule is used widely in Time Management.

"This is neatly summed up in the Pareto Principle, or the '80:20 Rule'. This says that typically 80% of unfocused effort generates only 20% of results. This means that the remaining 80% of results are achieved with only 20% of the effort. While the ratio is not always 80:20, this broad pattern of a small proportion of activity generating non-scalar returns recurs so frequently that it is the norm in many situations."

Policies and Procedures

When you joined your company did you really read those policies and procedures? There are a lot of companies out there that will try to confuse you with their P&P's, so you just won't read them. A good rule of thumb is the more pages it is, that is a company you really want to stay away from. Also, this is common for most companies, in fact I have seen this one myself:

"(Company name) reserves the right to suspend or terminate any Distributorship at any time for cause…"

When I questioned this in one of the companies I used to be a part of, the answer I got was.. "They have to put that in there but they never use it."

Now, why would a company place this in there P&P's if they never intend to use it? Unfortunately, the fact is, if it is there, they will use it. There is no legal obligation for a company to place this in there policies and procedures except to protect the company. Now, do you want a company that protects itself or protect you? Telephone Etiquette

When someone calls your phone and you answer "hello", can you tell immediately from the tone of the persons voice if you want to talk to them? Yes you can. Your posture on the phone is essential when building a relationship. If you had a bad day, the kids just weren't listening, the dog ate another shoe or you just woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I would suggest not picking up the phone. We all have bad days, it happens! So, if you are having an off day and want to know how you sound on the phone and what your posture is, you can try these simple things:
1. Call your voicemail (I know it sounds funny but believe me it works and you will know right away what you sound like)
2. Call a family member or friend (the only downfall with this is they may be used to your voice and might not be able to hear the fluctuations in it)
3. Just take a personal day!!! We all need it sometime, don't feel ashamed because you just need some "you" time.

Network Marketing is a teaching business and your product is people. People join people not companies. Over 400 years ago the personality types were introduced. There are 4 basic personality colors. We are all a rainbow of colors but we have one primary color. Knowing a person's primary color will help you better associate with them. I will give you a brief overview of people's personality colors. This information is taken right from theColor to Success training provided by Michael Dlouhy.
The four personality colors are as follows:
Yellow- 35% of the population
-Best at using both sides of their brains, creative, strong on relationships, logical and analytical
-Voice is soft and gentle
-Dislikes include: pushy, aggressive people, do not like sudden change, you will not close them!
-Strengths:Best listeners, dependable, patient, supportive, natural born listeners
-Weakness:Oversensitive, takes things personally

Blue- 15% of the population
- Most direct, strong on family and relationships
-Voice is fast and excited
-Dislikes include: hate too many facts and figures just want a snapshot, don't like anything boring and don't like being sold
-Strengths: enthusiastic, excellent promoters, creative
-Weakness: unorganized, scattered and poor on follow-ups

Green- 35% of the population
-Left brained, logical and analytical
-Voice is soft and correct
-Dislikes: not having all the facts and figures, hate being late, pushy/aggressive sale people
-Strengths: most organized, task persistent, problem solvers
-Weakness: over analyze everything, hard to please, pessimistic about everything

Red- 15% of the population
-Right brained
-Voice is forceful with volume
-Dislikes: small talk, indecision, wants you to get right to the point
-Strengths: best negotiators, risk takers, natural born leaders
-Weakness: big ego, unteachable

This is just a small overview of each personality. Knowing a person's color is vital to your success. Knowing their likes and dislikes will let you associate with each person on a personal level. How do you build your business

If you were married and needed marriage counseling, would you seek counseling from someone who was never married? NO, you would seek counsel from someone that has a successful marriage. It is not just the company or the product/service that the company has that will make you successful. To succeed in MLM you have to attain people skills. You must also NOT have the mind set, recruit,recruit, recruit, paycheck,paycheck,paycheck. Network Marketing is just that, it is about networking and building relationships. When you build relationships with people you will have a life long business partner. Relating to others and building relationships is the first step, you also have to be able to listen when others speak. Not only hear them but listen to them. Chapter 10 The power of the Mastermind

This chapter I did not complete a lesson plan for. I didn't because I do not yet fully understand the power of the mastermind group. The lesson plans that I read were awesome and really stimulated my thinking to what level I need to be at. There is one quote I would like to share with all of you:

I am so thankful for the MFF training I recieved

As I was calling my prospects today, I got into an awesome discussion with one woman. This woman, whose name I will not mention, had unfortunately been taken advantage of by a couple different companies and lost a lot of money. We spoke for almost forty minutes and the conversation was awesome! I was so comfortable talking to this woman that I never met and sharing details with her about my own failures in Network Marketing. After I got off the phone, I was in such awe that I could be that comfortable talking to a complete stranger. I am so grateful for the training from MFF that I have received. Before I found Mentoring for Free, I would have never been able to carry on a detailed conversation like that without stumbling over myself. life. When I was 17 and joined the Army, persistence and desire to
succeed was the force that drove me to graduate, to finish and excel
in my training. I think back to that time and remember waking up the
morning with a home made "self talk" that I would repeat to myself
over and over throughout the day. Attending the first Co-ed Basic
training made it even more difficult to be successful, with all the
negative influences that I faced from the opposite sex, whom half of
did not believe us females should be allowed to train. Persistence is
what made me graduate and walk on that stage 8 weeks later, with my
head held high, as I am now a United States Soldier. Persistence is
what pushed me to accomplish and achieve the status I now have, 12
years later within the United States Army. Reflecting on this made me
ask myself, if I could be persistent, when everyone said I would fail
and the chips were stacked against me, then I can be persistent in my
journey in Network Marketing. I started to look inside myself to find
what was hidden and all tucked away since I attended Basic Training.
The drive, the motivation, the persistence and the self talk that made
me achieve. Having pulled those drives out of the hidden box they were
in has now opened a new door for me in my life and in my business. I
will succeed and it will occur through my persistence and desire to
succeed. With the help of the mastermind group and my new found

This is a question most of us have asked ourselves when trying over and over again to create residual income from home. 1. Is the company a 5 Pillar Company?

-Does management have experience building a down line?

Multi-level marketing (MLM), also known as Network Marketing is a business distribution model that allows a parent multi-level marketing company to market their products directly to consumers by means of relationship referral and direct selling.
Independent unsalaried salespeople of multi-level marketing referred to as distributors (associates, independent business owners, franchise owners, sales consultants, consultants, independent agents, etc.), represent the parent company and are rewarded a commission relative to the volume of product sold through each of their independent businesses (organizations). Independent distributors develop their organization by either building an active customer base, who buy direct from the parent company and / or by recruiting a downline of independent distributors who also build a customer base, expanding the overall organization. Additionally, distributors can also earn a profit by retailing products which they purchased from the parent company at wholesale price.
Distributors earn a commission based on the sales efforts of their organization, which includes their independent sale efforts as well as the leveraged sales efforts of their downline. This arrangement is similar to franchise arrangements where royalties are paid from the sales of individual franchise operations to the franchisor as well as to an area or region manager. Commissions are paid to multi-level marketing distributors according to the company’s compensation plan. There can be multiple levels of people receiving royalties from one person's sales.

Don't buy Leads

Does your company tell you to buy leads? Are you cold calling hoping to get an enrollment?
For a year I spent over $8,000 buying leads with only 5 enrollments that later cancelled. I did my dials everyday and spent hours on the phone. What did I accomplish???
